This summer (2006), Niigata will be host to the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial. This is a major art festival that happens every 3 years and invites more than 300 groups of artists from around Japan and across the world. There is a special tour for JET participants over the weekend of September 2 & 3. This will include a bus tour with an English-speaking guide, access to all exhibitions and performances, plus food and lodging at a special Japanese guesthouse that doubles as an art installation. The maximum number of participants is 24 people. To register contact Errol Packard, CIR at packard.errol@pref.niigata.lg.jp before 15th August.
